Girlicious singer pleads not guilty to drug charge

LOS ANGELES —

A part of of the pop organisation Girlicious has pleaded not guilty in the Los Angeles courtroom to receive of heroin with the intent to sell.

Natalie Nicole Mejia was riding in the Ford Mustang stopped for speeding upon March 9 by the Glendale police officer. The officer found more than the dozen bags containing heroin in her Gucci purse.

The 21-year-old Diamond Bar singer, who has been free upon $30,000 bail, pleaded not guilty to the felony charge upon Thursday. Glendale police say she told officers the drug weren't hers and she didn't know how they got in her purse.

Prosecutors say the motorist of the Mustang, 28-year-old Peter Asencio of Burbank, was charged with driving with the dangling license.
